How Can I Tell If I Have a New or Old Style Peterbilt Manifold?
Peterbilt changed their manifolds on top of the fuel tank sometime around 2007. Your old-style manifold with all the fittings in line is from 2007 and older. For that reason, the fasted and easiest way to determine the style of your tank is to check if your tank has removable draw tubes.
- If you can remove the draw tubes from your tank and put them in a new tank, you have an old style manifold.
- You have the new style of manifold, if your draw tubes are permanently welded in the tank and the fittings on the top are not in line.
Will I Need To Make Modifications?
These Alttec tanks are in a variety of options, so you can find the exact tank you need. They bolt right onto your truck without the need for modifications. The tanks feature a Peterbilt-style neck that will accept the flip top fuel cap. This makes it almost identical to your factory-installed tank.
Cost Savings
- Save On Total Cost: Alttec tanks cost 35 to 40 percent less than tanks that come directly from the dealership.
- Warranty: These tanks come with a 2-year warranty. Most tanks that come directly from the dealership do not come with such backing.
- No Core Charge: These fuel tanks do not need a recycling deposit. If you go to a dealer you are most likely going to pay a core charge until you bring back the old tank or net.
