JOPLIN, MO, September 26, 2023 – 4 State Trucks in Joplin, MO has tallied up the donations from their GBATS 2023 Fundraiser supporting Special Olympics of SW Missouri. During the Guilty by Association Truck Show held September 21st – 23rd, 2023, they auctioned off the first 20 spots, and facilitated a convoy at 6 p.m. Saturday to include the 20 top bidders from the fundraising auction, due to the original convoy being canceled for weather concerns by city leaders.
Bryan Martin, President of 4 State Trucks, presented an additional Convoy to the GBATS participants that took place early Sunday morning. In total, with drivers donating $100 directly to the Special Olympics athletes and the auction proceeds for the top 20 spots, 4 State Trucks and our group of truckers were able to help raise over $120,000 for this amazing charity. The remaining convoy truckers were able to gather on Sunday morning, September 24th, and have a large convoy from Exit 4 to Exit 22, and back. Both the Joplin community and trucking communities showed up in full force to provide an impressive 125+ truck second convoy. Haley Blevins, from Special Olympics, stated “Although the weather tried its best to squash the convoy efforts, we overcame it and had not one, but two stellar convoys! Spirits were high, and the funds raised were incredible considering the weather and logistical obstacles.”
“The truck show and convoy is something that we look forward to so much… It’s our favorite event… It is so family-oriented and I love that about it… A great time for family to get together and have good clean fun. Being that the fundraiser is for the Special Olympics is very special to me as my sister-in-law was part of Special Olympics and played lots of sporting events over the years. The truck convoy is the highlight of the event for me. It is a very emotional ride because the community comes out to support it, and you have children lined up alongside the highway, pumping their arms to hear the air horns and see the waves and smiles coming from the drivers ❤️ I don’t look at 4 State Trucks and the Martin family as business associates; I consider them my family …they are honest, hard-working, down to earth people with family values, which I love!” said Beverly Ledgerwood, truck show participant.

Today, we are excited to talk about one of the hottest topics in aftermarket truck accessories over the past five to six years – innovative Dual Revolution lights by the folks at Trux.
Traditionally, the front lights of our trucks have been amber, while the backlights are red. In addition, tail-end truck lights for backing up are commonly white. However, with the invention of Dual Revolution lights, everything has changed, and we will tell you how.
Say goodbye to static lights and embrace the versatility of Dual Revolution Lights! You can now replace single-color lights (amber or red) with dynamic multi-color options. Mix and match with a variety of different color combinations such as amber and purple, amber and green, amber and blue, or amber and white. Installing these innovative lights involves adding an additional power circuit to the desired location on your truck and trailer, enabling effortless color changes.
For most of you, knowing how the traditional lights can be changed to these new lights is simple. To make things easier, we will walk you through a quick 101 tutorial.
Let’s say you have a two-wire traditional light – one black for power, one white for ground – and you want to replace it with a Dual Revolution light. The white wire will still be your ground. While the red wire (instead of black in this case) will be your power source for the amber light. However, the game-changer with Dual Revolution is the third wire that commands the secondary color. The color changes activate with a new power circuit.
Moreover, with a three-wired light, the wires remain as before with the white wire for ground, black for the taillight power, red for the brake light power, and an extra yellow wire for your secondary color. This provides you with the same functionality as regular lights but with a color-changing twist.

It’s that time of year again when spring is in the air and everyone wants to get their equipment looking sharp and shiny, especially on the weekends when everyone’s out on the town. And the first thing you think of when you’re detailing out your rig is to get a good coat of wax on it.
Now, we all know there is a wide variety of great waxes out there in the market. I was introduced to Fukken Wax 3 years ago, and have become made a believer. It’s not the typical paste or liquid wax. It’s in an aerosol can.

Being a little nostalgic, we are taking a look back to the late 80s & early 90s when many truck drivers had those “cool” mud flap weights on their trucks. So join us for a blast to the past as we take a closer look at the PeterCar, FreightShaker & KWHOPPER mud flap weights.
The truck industry has come a long way. Back then, semi-trucks weren’t quite the same as they are today. The trucks were cool, but in a different way, with different fashion trends. Having an 18-inch bumper and chicken lights down the bottom of your cabin sleeper, and maybe some 5-inch side straight pipes would have made your truck stand out. There wasn’t a huge selection of bolt-on accessories, trim pieces, and upgrades available like there are today.
However, we still had unique things to put on our rigs, like the fun mud flap weights with different name cut outs. Do you remember Kwopper, Freightshaker, or Petecarr? Back then you would see these names bolted on everything, such as tool boxes, battery boxes, and hood fenders.
How did these names come to be? It’s hard to say and make sense of those names, but over the years, hundreds of these mud flaps were sold.
It’s pretty cool to see how much the trucking industry has evolved. What was cool back then, is still a little cool today.

Today we are talking about custom polished stainless steel SH Tube Shifter Sticks. 4 State Trucks has a variety of lengths and styles to suit your personal preference. They are a really cool product, made in the USA by our friends down in Kentucky at SH Tube.
SH Tube has pioneered the Twisted Shifter. By uniformly twisting a one-inch stainless tubing in a way that’s really unique, they make a one-of-a-kind shifter. You have a choice between round or square tubing and you can choose between a variety of different heights.
Each stainless shift stick is truck-specific, there is a wide selection for Peterbilt and Kenworth models. These shifter sticks are custom-bent to fit your truck’s specific year, make, model, and transmission. Before making your purchase, be sure to determine those specific details.
Installing it is pretty simple. You will need to remove the collar of your shift stick and unscrew the shift knob. You will then take off the shift boot and knock out the pin securing the shifter stick. After that, replace your old strick with your new SH tube shifter. Once you reattach everything, you will be good to go.
Keep in mind that if you are going with a taller shifter than the one you took out of your truck, you may need some new airlines and additional brass splices.

Get a sneak peek inside the Chrome Shop Mafia Workshop! Watch Tech Michael Forst, as he installs a stainless-steel Y-Pipe hanger bracket to mount a long drop exhaust elbow. He gives a quick how-to on installing, along with some great advice. The hangers are a great fit for both 378 and 379 Peterbilt trucks.
For installation, you will need the Y-pipe hanger bracket and also an exhaust clamp with the straight Peterbilt hanger on it. The clamp goes at the joint of your Y-pipe and elbow. It mounts on an existing hole in the bottom of the cab structure.
These Y-pipe hanger brackets come in the Vendetta Exhaust kits and are also sold separately. The brackets are available in stainless and black powder-coated steel.

Bryan Martin here at 4 state Trucks and today we are going to have a little fun with electric bull horns. I have been seeing this horn hanging on the wall in our store for years now. Until now, I never really slowed down to give it a fair chance to impress me. I rigged one up to a battery so you can hear it too in the YouTube video below.
This horn is labeled red steel bull horn, so when I look at that you know I am thinking bull horn. Well, when I read the description on the manufactures’ website it says it simulates the sound of an angry bull.
The product description for this bull horn states ” Trucking can be a dangerous job and safety is a huge priority. One of the best ways to increase safety is by installing a train horn to your rig that is much louder than a regular horn.”
I am not sure how I would describe the sound of this electric bull horn, but I would not describe it as simulating the sound of an angry bull.
Does it have any place on a Semi-Truck? I might put this horn on my golf cart, Grandpa’s pontoon boat, and maybe even Uncle Joe’s side-by-side that he goes turkey hunting on. But I am not going to have it on my Peterbilt or Kenworth.

We are coming to you from 4 State Trucks in Joplin Missouri to talk about shift stick extensions. This high-demand product is very affordable and easy to install in the cab of your truck. These shift lever extensions bring the shift knob up from the console and put it closer to the driver.
Not only do we have the more casual extension lengths but also the show-stopper versions where the shift knob is long enough to be seen through the door glass and windshield. The longer shift stick extension is a cool feature for a truck even if you just keep it on for a short while and change it up every now and then.
The shifter stick extensions are available in 6-inch, 9-inch, 12-inch, and 18-inch. Most of your shifter sticks are already 24 to 30 inches, so when you add 18 inches on top of that baby it is going to be up there.
Our 9-inch and 12-inch shift extensions are typically our most popular sellers. We also sell quite a few 6-inch extensions for drivers just wanting to get their shifter a little closer to their steering wheel.
While these shift lever extensions are not a new product for us, we have expanded our selection. Thanks to the folks at United Pacific, we not only offer shift stick extensions in chrome but also have them available in blue, red, orange, silver, white, yellow, and green. You will also find matching shift knobs and collars for 13/15/18-Speed Eaton Fuller shifter assemblies.
Before being ready to install your extension there are a few things you need to do and purchase first.
Look down at your shift stick and count the air hoses. You may have 2 air hoses running up the stick, or you may have 3 or 4. How many airlines you have will determine how much 5/32 inch plastic airline you will need. If you just want to estimate, 10 feet of hose should be more than enough for any extension up to 18 inches, regardless of how many hoses you have.
For each hose, you will also need to pick up a 5/32-inch Airline Union brass fitting. When using quick-connection brass fittings, you will not need any tools. These fittings work well and surprisingly they will almost never accidentally come apart. They are very reliable and handy, you can not beat the quick connects these days.
Installed between the shifter and your shift knob, these shift stick extenders will fit perfectly onto your factory shifter.

These Billet Step Plates are a new product for us. We design and manufacture them right here in the Chrome Shop Mafia Fab Shop. Recently we got a new End Mill and let our fab shop manager, Cody go to work on designing some new customizable products that we have not offered before.
4 State Trucks is now able to offer some really unique and very cool step plates with various designs. The base plates are billet aluminum. They come in black, blue, orange, red, yellow, and plain. All the inserts are stainless steel and drop-down flesh in the base plates.
We have a variety of different designs, such as the United States Flag, 1776, and Don’t Tread On Me. Cody is a Veteran of the U.S. Armed forces and as you can see the first few of his designs show a lot of patriotism, which is very cool. And of course, our collection would not be complete without our custom Chrome Shop Mafia step plate. It features a Tommy Gun logo cutout.
When the base plates are put together, you will drill the eight holes on the bottom to match up with the top of your battery box, toolbox, deck plate, or wherever you want a step plate. It will mount to any flat surface that you are willing to drill eight holes into. Once the lock nuts are tight, the plate will be very secure and will not go anywhere.

We are here today to talk about the exciting topic of coiled air brake hoses for your trailer. What do you mean you think that’s not exciting? It is when you’re talking about the Reflexallen coiled trailer hoses. These air brake hoses are uber premium. You cannot buy a better set of trailer hoses.
When you pick up one of these Reflexallen hoses you can tell pretty quickly this is indeed a high-quality product. Reflexallen Air Brake Coils have Intelli-Flex kink repairing technology. This allows the hoses to kink, bend, flex, stretch and fold while passing DOT requirements.
Reflexallen coiled air brake hoses will not crack and snap at zero, -10, or even -20 degrees. Any of us that has been trucking for any length of time knows when the temperatures dip to zero degrees, negative five degrees, or negative 15 degrees, that your traditional red and blue coiled hoses will start snapping off or kink. When this happens the old style of hoses are pretty much junk and will never be safe to use. Reflexallen coil hoses can withstand such temperature changes and typically last 8 to 10 years if not more.
They repair themselves. At any time during the year even during the extreme cold, even if you kink these hoses over hard they actually repair themselves. They are kink-resistant and kink-repairing. The coils will return to normal in 30 seconds.

When temperatures start hitting 105 and 110 degrees many typically hoses start to sag and rest on the frame cover or deck plate. Today, we are here to talk about our mirror light extension bracket and why you would need one. This is a not-truck part you will find at every chrome shop you know. It is kind of a unique and cool innovative product that we manufacture in-house.
For years we have been hanging turn signal lights directly off mirror brackets. To improve the process, Cody and the gang in the shop designed a polished stainless steel tube extension.
This light extension is for mounting a turn signal or marker light to the bottom of your side mirror bracket. It will lower the light on your side mirror so it is more visible to others around you.
Each extension is made of a polished stainless steel tube with coarse threads on the ends. It will work with almost any kind of turn signal light with a half-inch coarse thread. There is a small hole in the tube where you can route the wiring to allow for a quick installation.

Hey everybody, Brian Martin the Boss Man coming to you once again from 4statetrucks.com to talk about HD Bulldog Shocks. This is a fairly new line for us, we’ve carried them for a couple of years now. We wanted to find a superior shock absorber to what comes on your truck from the factory and Bulldog HD Shocks was it. These heavy-duty shock absorbers are similar to what you may pick up at Fleet Pride or at your dealership in the way of a general-purpose aftermarket shock. Underperforming shocks can lead to damage to other components, even tire wear, driver fatigue, and unscheduled maintenance. One of the big issues you may see in a general-purpose shock is oil leaking from the bottom. This is a sign its seal is broken and the shock would need to be replaced. Damage caused by friction is also a big concern. You may see this when there is breakage at the top or if the bushings start to denigrate. When this happens sometimes it is easier just to change out the shock altogether.

Hey Folks, Brian Martin the Boss Man here at 4 State Trucks. Today we are talking about pedals for your rig. There are many different choices out there. But what better one than RealWheels Billet Aluminum Pedals. They are made in Gurnee, Illinois USA. Big on quality and style, they are also pretty darn cost-effective. Currently, a set for most trucks runs around $250 to $300.

Okay, guys today we are going to be talking about our sliding cab cowl bracket on a Peterbilt 389. If you are putting a one-piece cab cowl on they are really a must-have. What I mean by a one-piece cab cowl is when the cab bar and the cowl panel piece on your truck are all one unit. These brackets have a sliding action so it keeps the panels secure while moving with the motion of the truck.
Most factory-style cowl panels come with a solid bracket on the bottom as shown in the photo. You can see the bracket pictured above has already been broken and repaired at least once. For the repair shown they cut it off smooth and riveted on a heavier piece. This is a common break for this factory-installed part.
The factory cowl panels do not connect to the cab in any way. They bolt up top and to the bottom to the lower hood guide. This lower hood guide always bolts solidly to the frame. Keep in mind when you put on your one-piece cab cowl your cab is on air. The panel moves with the cab and it is bouncing up and down with the cab, which is the reason standard solid brackets may break in time.
To fix the broken bracket issue and help keep your custom cawl panels looking great we came up with this bracket built with a sliding action. The design allows the bracket to flex without breaking.
Our Sliding Cab Cowl Panel Mounting Brackets line up with the factory mounting locations and the same hood guide that your factory bracket does. They will work on any cab cowl designed to utilize the same mounting locations.
They are 11 gauge stainless steel and come with fiber washers on the slide. So you are not rubbing metal against metal. You do not have to worry about anything ceasing up. Sold as a pair, the sliding mounting brackets are currently about the same cost as standard replacement brackets. They are designed to last the life of the truck and are going to make cab cowls hold up a lot better too.

All right gang. It’s Brian Martin the Bossman over here at 4 State Trucks. We are talking about Peterbilt headlights. For years the dual round headlight assembly like we used to get on the 359s and even some of the Freightliners back in the day was only to be found in a salvage yard. And that is if you got lucky.
Before now most of us had to settle with an aftermarket version for this headlight. There are several aftermarket parts with a quality stainless steel bucket or even with different bulb choices. However, if you want actual OE quality you will need to look a little harder.
Thankfully, the folks at Dirks recently launched an OE-quality aluminum bucket light assembly to factory standards. It has the same quality of headlight buckets, metal work, and bezel that would have come with a new Peterbilt in the 1980s.
Dirks’ duel round headlight assemblies are made to be of original factory quality. Like the original part, each assembly includes a nice wire loom and bullet connectors on the end. There is a passenger side and a driver side assembly, so make sure you order the parts you need.
We have put a lot of these on drop brackets to install on 389s and 379s. There are many ways to use them when giving your truck a classic style. They look great when installed in some modified Kenworths.
