This is Chuck Lanoue’s brand new 389 Peterbilt! Wow what a look. It’s the first CSM converted 389. Chuck hauls bulk plastic for A&R Transport out of the Baytown TX terminal with a SHINY J&L bulk trailer. He runs anywhere anytime!
What’s really cool is that Chuck bought it off the lot in Baton
Rouge, LA with our good friends at Peterbilt of LA, and gave the BOYZ the challenge of dressing out the 389. It had many challenges but we made it happen.
We worked closely with our friends from the Denton,TX Peterbilt plant to insure all the modifications we did on the DPF system were in spec and correct to install those 8” monster stacks, then we installed all the “trick” CSM items!
We also had the fab shop crew do some custom cab and sleeper panels to get this 389 down to the ground. All in all, this build took a while ‘cause there were many changes on the parts that had to be made to accommodate this new style, but hey, it was thought out well and went together as smooth as any other build.
All we can say to Chuck is to enjoy it and have fun in that cool 389,
‘cause there is definitely no other like it out there yet! We also want to say thanks to all our folks that helped give this truck the look that we think is going to help people make that adjustment to the new style of the 389 Peterbilt!
Truck on!
