Schulz Transportation out of Lincoln, NE, is a small, family owned fleet of just under 100 Peterbilts running meat out West and produce back to the Midwest. This 2010 389 is driven by Roger Carlson and is the only flattop in the fleet, pulling a matching Great Dane stainless reefer mostly to Texas and back.
Roger wanted a hot rod look with a flames theme. And all these flames are not paint; they are all one big sticker or wrap. The deckplate, step boxes, and interior pieces, including the wood on the dash, were all wrapped by Matt with Spectra Wraps. The wraps are not as detailed as paint but are a lot cheaper. And if the wrap gets scratches or Roger and Benny get tired of the flames, we just pull off the wrap and start over for a whole new look!
Most of the goodies on the truck have been installed by Big Benny (the idea man) and the rest of the boys in the shop. The 20” front bumper and rear light bar were made by Whitey from Fairmont, NE. The smooth deckplate and trunk were built by Bub outta the Weld Shop. The flattop stacks were built right in town at Lincoln Chrome. On the inside of this clean unit Roger steers it down the road with a Road Dawg flame billet steering wheel. The door panels and floor mats were built by Big Benny in the shop.
Roger and Big Benny wanted to thank Alan and Beth Schulz for letting them be a little creative and take their “toy” to some shows around the area.
They also wanted to give a big thanks to their wives, Jo and Sarah, for letting them “play” to all hours of the night to get the truck ready for shows and to roll up and down the road in style.
See it and many other righteous rigs at the MADE IN THE SHADE Truck Show in David City, NE on July 24th!
