This Purple & Black 1993 379 Extended Hood holds a lot of special memories for its owners, Beth & Todd Roccapriore, from the Portland, Connecticut, area.
Beth and Todd worked tirelessly on this classic in their home shop; they chopped 5 ½” off the roof, installed a wood floor, added suicide doors and installed hundreds of lights
along the way. Eight months later, they took this custom truck on its first ride to an ice cream shop.
Part of the vision for this truck was shared by their mentor, Charlie. He was like a father figure to both and not only provided inspiration but handed down goals, skills, and ambition not only on this truck but in business and life. Charlie’s vision was for this truck to be part of the pride and polish event at MATS 2009. Unfortunately, Charlie passed away from his fight with cancer on the 15th of March, 2009.
The couple decided to fulfill one of Charlie’s last wishes and took the truck to Louisville the day after Charlie’s death. Todd drove the truck down and got it entered, ready for the show, then headed back home to attend the funeral and wake of his mentor.
The couple flew back to Louisville for Saturday’s events and their hard work and their good friend’s inspiration was rewarded with six trophies. The craftsmanship and overall design of this fantastic tractor-trailer combo will impress all critics, whether you are a master truck builder or a driver just starting out in the industry – Charlie, Todd and Beth really did their homework and went the ‘extra mile’ on this one!
